As the war on plastic waste intensifies, so there is an increasing need to re-assess our attitudes towards recycling and our environment. In an effort to create a visual statement of our response to the problem of plastic waste, we attempted to re-purpose the ubiquitous plastic mineral water bottles into unconventional yet practical light sculptures. The crafting processes employed emphasize on maintaining the inherent quality of the material and on sustaining a low embodied energy. By applying only the most basic methods of manual crafting skills using common stationery and craft tools, we aspire to generate worth and ethereal charm out of the mundane plastic bottles.

Wow, I didn't know my friends from secondary school are so creative one. Beautiful sculptures :) Did you use old plastic bags to make them? How tall are they?

Really impressive...beautiful and clearly meticulously planned. Will you be selling them later? Just curious.
